Tabora B Gate: Western Administrative Hub

Tabora B Gate is an important entry point located in the Western Corridor of the Serengeti, near the village of Lamadi and the shores of Lake Victoria. This gate is frequently used by travelers arriving from Mwanza or Speke Gulf. It serves as a vital link between the fertile western plains and the central ecosystems of the park.

The landscape surrounding Tabora B Gate is dominated by the 'black cotton' soil typical of the western corridor, which becomes incredibly lush during the rainy season. This attracts vast herds of herbivores, including zebras and wildebeest, particularly during the transition months of the Great Migration.

Western Corridor Access

Entering through Tabora B provides immediate access to the Ndabaka and Dutwa Plains. It is a region of high ecological value, featuring riverine forests and the floodplains of the Grumeti River system. The gate is equipped with TANAPA administrative offices to facilitate park entry and fee management for western travelers.
